We met in July of 2014, the month that we both moved to San Francisco-- Motty from Philadelphia and Tim from Bakersfield, CA. We first noticed each other at a street fair and pretty quickly knew that we were each other's "the one!" We quickly moved in together and were married three years later in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in California's wine country.
From the very start we talked about a future with children. On our first date Motty joked that he got a sensible family car expecting to have a couple children within a few years. Tim fell in love with how family-oriented Motty was and could immediately picture him as a co-dad.
In May of 2021 we were thrilled to welcome our son Dov through open adoption. He has brought so much joy and laughter to our lives and we couldn't imagine our family without him and we are excited to grow our family further!
Tim has endless curiosity and a great sense of adventure. After high school, he was ready to explore the world and moved to South America and Asia, where he learned several different languages. In addition to being curious, Tim is also a great educator, role model, and counselor. He serves as a mentor for several student groups at his school and his students routinely call him their favorite.
Tim is a great dad! During our time as co-dads, Tim has shown to be a wonderful, caring, and fun father. From dance parties in the living room, to story-time before bed, Tim loves every part of being a father. He especially loves playing games with Dov and teaching about all the animals in children’s books. If we are chosen, I know Tim will show your child all the love, adventure, and fun a child could have.
Tim is a high school Spanish teacher and loves being able to work with young people every day in a subject that he finds fun and interesting. More recently, he has found that the teacher and holiday schedules are ideal for raising a family! With Tim having two months off each summer, we plan to spend our summers exploring California and beyond.
Motty is one of the most amazing people you can ever hope to meet. He is smart and very funny.. After our first date, I found his mix of humor and emphasis on family charming. Since then, I have seen what a caring heart Motty has. He loves nothing more than to have everyone gathered in our home for a big meal.
Motty is the best dad! He is incredibly playful and always loving. His face lights up every time Dov laughs or does something new. He loves to take Dov to playgrounds and parks. His favorite time with Dov is during bath time, when Dov gets to splash all the water and play with his bath toys.
Motty also cares passionately about healthcare, and got his Master’s in Business Administration to improve care for his patients. These days, he spends most of his time at home doing administrative work, and only works a few shifts in the ER, which provides a great balance for raising a family.
We moved into our home four years ago hoping to grow our family in it. We fell in love with it because it has a large kitchen where Motty cooks up a storm and a big backyard where we often have friends and family over on the weekends.
We live on a quiet tree-lined street in Noe Valley, San Francisco. Noe Valley is also known as “Stroller Valley” because of all the kids here. It is fantastic for families! Within a few blocks of our home, we have several playgrounds, a library with tons of children’s programming, a weekly farmer’s market with a sing-along for kids, and lots of children’s bookstores and shops.
Beyond our neighborhood in San Francisco, we take advantage of what this city has to offer. You can often find us picnicking in the parks, hiking in the hills, or taking road trips along the California coast. We love the small mom and pop run restaurants throughout the city, and have our favorite restaurant for each kind of food.
